"I provide a fun teaching environment for my students to learn. I want my students to enjoy their lesson as much as possible when I am teaching them. I like to provide the student with a variety of material to learn from such as playing a song and improvising over a blues riff to reading notes on a music staff. As a teacher I feel that any student can obtain the joy of music from a beginner to advanced, from young child to adult.  I love to inspire and motivate anyone who wants to learn. "

Hew has been playing drums for 7 years.  He studied percussion under David Walker for two years at Old Dominion University and graduated in 2008 with a degree in music.  He has played drums for several local bands and has been teaching drum set for 2 years.  Recently he has been studying guitar in order to optimize his drum set lessons.  "I have always loved to play the drums, but playing by yourself can get boring.  When I started playing the drums, my biggest inspirations were always the people I played with.  That is why I decided to learn to play guitar.  I always want my students to have something to look forward to and someone to play with."
